Frequently
Asked Questions
We know it can be difficult to walk through the door of a new church — you don't know what to expect. We know you have questions. Rest assured, we welcome you just as you are!
Our congregation has a love for God and willingness to serve Him, the community and each other through group activities and children’s events. Our congregation is truly one family—with the same dynamics, loyalty and appreciation for each other as a traditional family.
What
time are services?
Our traditional worship service begins at 10:00 a.m.and lasts about an hour.
Sunday School classes begin at 9:00. Classes are available for everyone, ages four years to adult. Have a baby or young child? They are welcome to stay with parents during Sunday school and worship services.
Other fellowship and study opportunities are available during the week.
What
happens during the Sunday service?
Sunday morning services begin with a time of welcoming and announcements. Prayer requests and praise reports are shared. The Lord's Prayer is recited in unison. The service itself is a mix of worship, praise, hymns, prayer and preaching. Children are invited to participate in a children's message. An offering is taken. A Bible-based sermon is given with Christ as the focus. Our altar is always open for prayer.
What
should I wear?
We have a casual, but reverent atmosphere. Wear what makes you feel
most comfortable. Some folks wear more formal attire, others come in
jeans. Both are acceptable — we care more about your heart than
your wardrobe!
Will
I have to say anything or be singled out?
Participate as much or as little as you wish. We would like first-time visitors to sign the guestbook, but it is not required. Our goal is to make your first visit as comfortable as possible.
What
about my kids?
Sunday School classes are available for ages four years through high school. At the beginning of the worship service, children sit in the congregation with the adults. Each service has a short children's message for children ages four through 12, followed by age-appropriate Bible lessons and singing in the lower level.
We do not have a nursery. Toddlers and babies remain with parents throughout the service.
